Orange paint formulas? - 05/01/12 12:19 PM

Looking for OE-type formulas please for:

- orange '70-'71 engine blocks

- orange air cleaner lids

Would prefer not to go the rattle-can route

Thanks in advance

I thought I replied earlier but I guess not.

70's blue -- 5351D dupont or PPG 2423
turquoise -- 4799D but delete the metal flake dupont or PPG 13195
red -- like on 273 high performance -- 5092D dupont or PPG 2136
street hemi (1966) -- 5067D dupont or PPG 2186 or PPG 3116 Universal, Chrysler motor Mandarin orange
race hemi ('64 - '65) and Max Wedge -- 5065DH dupont or PPG 2201

What about PPG DCC 60626

The local distributor could mix it up so I bought it from them and the kicker here is that they went out of their way to also provide me with the formula for a full quart:

DMC 920 223.4
DMC 906 376.7
DMC 902 387.3
DMC 909 733.3
DMC 907 1368.9

Perfect - thanks.

Shipping paint across the border is an issue - I'd rather have it mixed locally.

I tried to have that formula mixed 20 years ago and it was no longer a valid # back then...

I realize that this is an old posting, I was wondering if anyone knew if those numbers for the toner were by weight or volume? I was asked by the kid mixing paint and I have no idea so we are holding off until I find out so I can get some more made up. Thanks, Tim

I have been looking at tool boxes, I sure would love to have a Hemi orange box, too bad the pigments have been outlawed…

I had a quart of PPG3116 mixed in Shopline single stage last year.

Pretty sure they have reasonably close substitutes for discontinued toners, but it depends how picky you want to be.
