69 GTX Engine Bay, Whats Wrong With it ? - 04/16/12 02:49 AM

I am looking at purchasing this 69 GTX and i would have thought that a GTX would have a 3speed wiper motor being it was a high end package car. Is it possible that it came with a 2 speed wiper motor? Here is a picture of the engine bay what do you think about the picture, does everything look correct? It looks like a 2 speed motor.

3 speed wipers were an option not standard.

It is very possible for a GTX not to have 3 speed wipers. A lot of cars without the airgrabber came wirh two speed wipers. The PCV valve and ballast resistor are not correct but that's nothing. Is it A4 platinum metallic? The A/C is a nice option with tinted glass all around. It has the factory tach. Can you post the fender tag?

Can you post a smaller low res picture , that will make it easier to spot what is not correct.

As said 3 speed is an option , it also has the wrong master cylinder cover.

and if it's a disc brake car it's the wrong master cylinder................

My '69 GTX came with a 2-speed wiper system

Which brings up a question since this is the first '68 or '69 B-body that I've owned with disc brakes "could you get non-power disc brakes?" My GTX has power disc brakes; (front discs of course)

The master may be correct, the cap for sure is wrong. The B body mopars had to have power assist to get disc brakes. The A bodies past 1970 could get disc without power assist. And yes, J25 was optional on B body mopars, but standard on N96 equipped cars.

ballast resistor, pcv valve, master cylinder cover, ignitiona coil should be green lettering

missing a voltage regulator?

a/c compressor pulley and power steering pump assy should be gloss black

Steering wheel center cap looks awfully dark ( maybe a 68 cap ? )
Shifter knob is chrome - should be woodgrain ( maybe an early car thing ?)

Shouldn't the engine be turquoise with A/C?

383 thing , a turquoise 440 in 69 would be the 350HP version .

Nice looking car. A few wrong finishes and minor details, that wouldn't stop me from buying it.

A bodies prior to 70 also had non-power discs. I had a 68 383 with non-power discs.

friend of mine has a EARLY August'68 build charger and it has the chrome knob on the stick, and also 1968 doors! the factory drilled new holes for the lock knobs, but the old(1968) one are there also. it's got lots of carry-over, 1968 parts on it. pretty cool to look it over!
