I've bought two sets from OEM glass and they both went in and fit great.

Dave only etches the glass. He buys glass from someone. Good for drives, glass has really bad spots and waves. I heard he has found or looking for a new supplier.

I have some sets at a discounted price.

Auto Metal Direct's glass is supposed to be OEM thickness. I heard most of the other glass is thinner then OEM. Just what I heard don't know if it is true.

Before installing any new E-body door glass, I would suggest laying it on an original glass (if available) to compare the curvature. We recently had some for a 'Cuda convertible that was so badly formed it could not be adjusted to fit the top frame channel and also wind down into the door. You could make it do one or the other, but not both.

I called OEM glass ..they said not aval for my 71 Challenger . I think AMD and ECS probally is using them as the mfg now.

The new glass fits correctly and has no visible defects. As with ALL new glass, there might be some tempering spots that can only be seen at certain angles or in dim fluorescent lighting. I used NOS glass (from the early 80's) in my Challenger and the driver side door glass has the same tempering marks as the new stuff that we currently inventory. Even some of the original glass had faint signs of the tempering marks. It is an unavoidable, residual part of the manufacturing process. The new glass is just about as nice as the original stuff in fit, thickness and finish. As of the beginning of this year, we now have a completely different supplier and manufacturer for this product line. It DOES NOT come from OEM glass!!!!

While there has been issues with wavy and poor glass in the past, I think the new stuff is different. I bought some glass from Dave recently and it is absolutely perfect-at least as good as some NOS glass I have here. Thanks again Dave for your help and all the trouble fixing the Fed-Ex problem!
