C Hopkins AMD Installation Center Reviews? - 03/23/12 02:12 AM

Hello Everyone,

I'm searching for a good company/person to do some sheet metal work on my 1970 Barracuda Convertible. I already have the panels (1 piece trunk, dropoffs, 1/4's). It will be a while before I can really dive into the build. So I'm considering the C. Hopkins AMD Installation Center in Cleveland, GA to get some of the big work done. (Later, I may do the main floor and cowl on my own).

Thus far, I've been pleased with the professionalism and quick replies to my questions. Has anyone had work done there, and what was the experience for you? Any pictures, compliments, complaints, etc? Any and all reviews would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Matt

Well I have no first hand experience, but I did see an episode of (it think it was) chop cut rebuild where they did a 70 charger. Looked like a nice facility. They had the car up on a nice frame jib and did all the panels with a really cool looking pro spot welder. They couldnt have made the panel installation look easier. Looked like a first class operation. Might see if you can find it on youtube.

Are you sure it wasn't the 69 xp hemi charger they were doing. That car was ruff ruff ruff. They did a bang up job on it. If I was gonna use some one and I was close to them there the ones for me.

Nothing against the installation center, but I would recommend Allen Lloyd at 404-735-7993. He is in Calhoun and I think you'll like his prices and quality of work. Tell him Randy sent you.

I retract this recommendation. I had poor quality work done on my car as well as parts stolen. Do not use Allen Lloyd or his partner Clair Stone for anything, anywhere, any time in my opinion.

I know a few people have used this place. Nice website with lots of in-process work. Appears to be very high quality.

If I'm not mistaken, a board member had is A12 RR done there.

I don't have any pics of the work they did maybe I'll take some after Carlisle and post them. I had them install floorboards and they laid them over the top of the previous floorboard (partially cutout) and welded in. They didn't butt weld the seams as should be done. So, besides looking like crap, it's a perfect place for moisture to get in and start the rust process again. They did a trunk floor which wasn't done properly either. I can't see where they put any seam sealer in anywhere, there's overspray in the trunk, the fuel tank pad wasn't put back, I could go on. Overall incorrectly, and very poorly done. And then, there's the theft thing. They stole a tail panel (71 Demon)and some interior sail panels and weatherstrip totaling $500+ dollars. Stay far away from these clowns.
