1971 Challenger Trunk Lid "Dodge" Emblem Applicability - 02/29/12 04:56 PM
What determines if the trunk lid should have the Dodge emblem? Does it depend if the vehicle has a luggage rack or wing?

Pretty sure they all had the "DODGE" on the deck lid

Does your red 71 have the Dodge script on the deck lid? I don't remember holes in it.

The emblem is in reproduction, I have seen the person that sells them at Mopars at Carlisle and have his name writen down someplace. Cost of the Dodge Emblem was around 35 Dollars.
Quote:...........Yeah... I need one too if all 71 Challengers had em. I DO know they make the ones for the trucks and darts but I have never seen a reproduced one for the 71 Challenger trunk and none for sale one Ebag .Quote:

Dave , Remember that deck lid WAS blue & I 'believe' came off a 1970 "?" .......... The emblems are a "stick-on" and I have one ....... however it's not in great shape looks like I'm going to have to hit Chris (Morty) up for one

This one's on Ebay - "stick-on" Dart. What's the difference? Is there a part number on them?

Quote:.....Well now Bruce, do you have the correct one on your car or a later emblem from a dodge truck ?? I would like to see a close up of the one on the survivor above.
Here's a pic of the emblem on my car (bottom) compared to the one that is like the one in the eBay auction (top). The one on the car is slightly longer.

Ok so the raised one on the restored blue car may be wrong for a Challenger. I have seen the raised emblem on later dodge vans and trucks befor. Anyone have a pic of the reproduced emblem from the mystery seller ???

Sorry guys. Got super busy last night with other stuff. I still wanted to get this done so I wandered out to my shop last night to get you guys a pic, but the emblems were not where I thought they were
That means they are buried in my parts closet.
So you'll have to wait until tonight - sorry about that.

"fmmpr" has 3 auctions for a bunch of "stick-on" Dodge emblems listed on Ebay showing part #3811 220 (for mid '70s c-bodies & '80 F-body cop-cars). They appear to be the "hollow-center" design & are listed as 5-1/4" lg. Also the assembly drawing shows a serif on the top of the "G" that the "raised-center" design does NOT have.

Sorry I put the link f'ing Frank
These appear to be the same font as the "other" emblem except with pins late-'70s/early-'80s #4084778 DODGE truck emblems on eBay.

This thread could go on forever , but I have a question: In the engineering drawing on first page , is the specifications for the emblem placement 1.718" up from the deck-lid edge? + 2.75" in from the right-side? It's very difficult to read the numbers on the computer screen!

You got it right. The pic gets bigger and thats what I see it says.
