1967 HEMI Block pad ID help needed - 02/25/12 02:09 AM

Wondering if anyone has a 67 hemi block/engine with the top pad info still on it. Does is say in full CH426 or have just a C randomly stamped on it. Picture would even be better! thanks for the help!

A '66 Hemi block from a '67 Hemi car (except a WO/RO) will have CH426 stamped on the pad.

C = 1967 model year
H = Hemi engine
426 = Cubic inches

There would also normally be a large "WT" stamped on the pad, typically at odd angles and sloppy, as well as an assembly date stamping (example "3 12 27" which would be March 12th 1967 27th engine assembled)

The CH426 stampings are TYPICALLY inline with one another but I have seen some messed up examples where the letters looked like a blind person put them on. If you want more clarity on a specific example post a good pic of the pad.

I used to own this one and it's legit. Notice the stamper had a dislexic moment "462"
