70 AND 71 CUDA A PILLAR TRIM MOLDING - 02/19/12 06:52 PM

I hope someone can help me out.
I beleive there are differences between the 70 and 71 Cuda A pillar
Post trim molding. I have looked at and found not only visual differences but corresponding Part Number differences However, I'm not sure what year goes with the different part number.
Example: One of the moldings is flared at the corner where it fits to the dash pad...the other part number does not have the flare.
Please help me out and does anyone know and have a reference part number manual or database that will clearly state what part number goes to each year.
Appreciate anyone that can help out Thank You

Here is the parts book page. The A pillar trim is referred to as a "side windshield garnish moulding". Hope this helps.

Yes, you'll find the 70 is slightly different than the 71-4, the mounting holes are slightly off between the the 70 vs 71-4

I have had several 71's and found that the same mouldings were used as 70.I have a March 70 built car that has the 70 style. I could see later built 71 cars that would have the 72-74 trim.

I have not had luck finding some for my '70 Cuda. If anyone out there has some decent ones for sale, let me know. The repops are atrocious.

Thanks for the responses
moparfan53 I don't think that is the same as the pillar molding
Part number does not match with the pillar molding
I'm sure you have the correct manual...can you check to make sure
there is no A pillar trim molding listes

I don't see any other listing. Here is the part book illustration page which gives the part name and code to go to in the part number section. The "part number" in the parts book may or may not be the same as the "stamping number" or "casting number" that may be on the part. If you are using a stamping/casting number on the part (as opposed to the part# on the original packaging) to compare, that may be why they don't match up. What number are you using and is it cast or stamped on the moulding?
