Believe they came on cars that were built for export sales..

Any 1970 model got that tag if the order originated from overseas - whether the car was actually exported or not.
Most 'export' cars I see were ordered by US Servicemen from overseas for pick up when they returned home.

Back in the early 80's, a friend owned the only known 'built for export' 70 Hemi Cuda (FC7, now owned by Craig Jackson), here in England. When new, it was apparently a gift from Chrysler to the CEO of British Steel. It did not have one of these tags, but a blue decal in the forward vertical part of the drivers's door shut. Back then I owned an export build 72 RR/GTX which was sold to USAF serviceman stationed in Germany. It also didn't have the metal 'export' tag, although it did have an additional tag issued by the German DMV.

Cool, I have never had any contact with them. Is that yours? Here's a thread about one that still lives here which you may find interesting;

Nope, that was not mine...all my RHD cars have been Aussie ones.
I had just delt with the guy who owned that one before.. Andy was his name. He had a couple RHD US A bodies (brought back from the UK) from memory at one point in time.

Oh, and cool link.
They mention about the Australian market too in the one reply...but Oz never did get the US model car like the Barracuda, they had all thier own cars built locally..
