Is this a 1972-73 340 flywheel - 12/04/11 06:33 PM

I have a 130 tooth--6 bolt--12 1/4" total width flywheel

It has a crescent shape cutout on the edge on the back flywheel

No casting or part #'s

Would this be a flywheel for a cast crank 340

No,I don't think so, 360 has some big holes drilled close to edge to ballance it.

Maybe a 400 steel crank wheel. The 143 Tooth 400 truck wheels have the same flycut. 360 has 3 big holes drilled in it.

IMHO it looks more like a 383 cast crank scallop clutch flywheel using a 10.95 cover/clutch

Heres one of the gazillon 143T for 400 s/c trucks that I've had. Just pulled another couple weeks back.
Looks like the same flycut.

360 wheels have three 15/16" holes I believe is what they are.

I just recounted it again and it is 130 tooth

It did come with a pressure plate and disc.

The clutch measures 11" and bolts up to this flywheel and the disc fits slightly inside.

What is a scalloped clutch?

So if it is for a cast crank 383 will it work on a cast crank 340 1973
