For what it worth... Here some shots of the sanden compressor install on a 440 using the Vintage Air kit. As you can see it is very tight...

AC and non AC cars have two different water pump housings. You can replace yours with one that has the thermostat housing slanted at an angle. I did on my 72 Charger 400CID when I added factory AC.

That is incorrect, most of the housings are the same with the exception of the Hemi and early housings .Some early A/C cars (but not all) used an angled thermostat housing depending on engine.

Also,Bouchillon's A/C mounting bracket will give you enough clearance to remove the thermostat housing bolt without removing the compressor.

You could get a little clearance by putting the bolts in the opposite direction; the heads of the bolts are shorter than the nylock nuts......also you could space the brackets or.......

I used a kit from classic auto air. I have an air grabber and have no clearence issues with my sanden. Maybe classic will sell you their brackets?

I was gonna suggest the aforementioned angled neck housing till I saw yours is an aftermarket alum one. I'd get a good NAPA superstat in there after checking it suspended in a pot of heated water/pushing the center valve on the pin back & forth to make sure it's free/drilling the 1/16" hole if it doesn't have one for easier fillup if desired & call it good. If everything stays high and tight you wont have to move the compressor or brackets to get at the stat housing bolts as it should be good for quite a spell
