Anyone using the Atomic EFI yet

Looks like it was just announced at SEMA. Not due out til Jan 2012 but I am sure there will be some magazine articles or reports by people that might be beta testing soon.

jegs already lists it for sale.

base is going for around 2k. the complete is closer to 2500.
not sure how many takers over fast.

shows it should ship nov 30th with free msd6a.

2k or you can buy the next up for $2200.. and the more expensive one that only supports 525hp.

It’s listed on Summit, projected delivery is June 2012.

It looks like edelbtock also announced its e-street EFI similar to this and the Fast EZ EFI. I'm just hoping for the price wars to begin!!!!

I'l be buying it after the first of the year, talked to them at SEMA quite a bit. Will be installing 6AL, their Dist along with Atomic EFI. I want to run E-85 and be able to switch over to gas when E-85 isn't available. With this system you just plug in the hand held moniter and change it and timing over, this is the system I've been waiting for!!

Man where was this cool stuff like 5 years ago when I dumped all kinds of money into carb and tuning??? lol. Looks pretty sweet and I've always had good luck with MSD stuff! Too bad my plans have changed radically or I'd be all over something like this

(i.e. engine going in the van is already EFI'd...)

Anybody get their hands on one of these systems? I have to figure that it is limited, due to all the sensors being in the throttle body, but it can't be worse than a carb on a street car.

Price is only thing keeping me away, that would double the value of my car.

Big selling point is no return line, but sounds like that's not really true.

"i downloaded the instructions http://www.msdignition.com/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=15032386224 and its optional not to have a return line. there are a series of questions you need to fill out and put values in based on your answer. basically it tells you if you live in a hot climate its recommended to use a return system unless your running an in-tank fuel pump - which I'm not sure is possible...? if your in a more mild climate 70-80* and mount the pump within 2 feet of the tank, and are using octane 91 or higher your good to go.

my climate is frequently 100+ so im wondering if its even worth it to bother with a returnless system at all - not something they tell you up front lol. drawback of living in the desert :/

The only thing that worries me about this design is the body mounted ecu. Having lived with Lean Burn, I hate to see modules right on top of the engine. I know...it's 40 year newer technology, but still....

I'm also not a fan of having the ecu, TPS, MAP, IAT and fuel pressure sensors all baked into one block. Cleaner install? Sure, But if any one of those 5 components fails, you are replacing all 5. $$$$$ Wouldn't mind seeing commonly available sensors and parts being used...much easier access to parts in the future.

Dave, those are all good points. I’m waiting to see how it works out before pulling the trigger. I’m still leaning toward the FAST with port injection. It’s more money and more work to install but I think it will perform better.
