HID headlights?

Anyone sell a HID kit for old muscle cars? 70 Challenger to be exact. I can't seem to find one. But I've seen a few cars in magazines with them. Thanks

I pieced mine together. Got these, 35w 6000k I think and got neolite housings

Then Just buy a good quality( not a $99 budget) H4 HID conversion kit. People can't believe how much light output there is at night.
Only think is, when you turn on the hibeams, the HIDS go off and ONLY the hibeams come on.

from what ive seen there isnt a kit, people but H4 headlight conversions lights from painless for example. Then you can either make your own relay harness to avoid running all the extra power through the headlight switch or buy the four headlight system harness from hella. Lastly you purchase a HID ballast and bulbs from about anyone online they are all over ebay its how most people convert there current h4 style headlight vehicles to HIDs and then your done.

Then all you need is an h4 to HID conversion ballast and bulbs off ebay and your done.

Just a note to anyone out there wanting to run true HID with ballasts on their Pre-69 hideaway headlight cars.

You need to modify the linkage from the actuator. Cut it, and lengthen the distance on the loop for the linkage. I have the H4 conversion. But when you add the HID conversion kit, the base of the bulb hits the linkage. I have to remove the grille in order to gain access to mine and I am currently not prepared to do that. I even have to move my Hi/Lo headlights to the INSIDE while I relocate the HI to the outside. I think I will get a better wider beam hitting the road. I hardly use the Hi/Lo beams but those will be upgraded to H4 as well so there is uniformity at the headlights and the light output.

Call Summit, my son bought a kit, nice install. it was plug and play with the correct wire lengths and all. Uses a relay off the battery and everything else brightened up. Call Summit.

Goto a Mopar guy that knows your cars and knows lighting. Email him with your questions as he has no online cart and has contact with each customer to make sure you get the right parts the first time.

I had some time today, Only a few months since the start of this thread and was checking out Daniel Stern's website out only to find this on HID conversions.

I bought some inexpensive 7" headlights from eBay a few years back that accept an H3 bulb. Retrofitted some H3 eBay HIDs with a relay in them, they've been good to go.

With all due respect, this is exactly the WRONG WAY TO DO IT.

Daniel Stern sums it up better than I ever could. I've worked in the automotive lighting industry in product development and manufacturing. He hits the nail on the head and I concur 100% with his article.
