1965 coronet bumper guards,special??

Rear bumperettes/or bumper guards,They stay horizontal instead of the usuall verticle.Don't remember ever seeing these on a car.,(but I really never looked too hard)Are these a rare/unusual part?

i've had 7 65 coronets,only 1 out 3 of my 500's had them,i personally think they are ugly.just another option to chose from in the day.

I believe they are the same on a 64.. 64 & 65 use the same rear bumper. Here they are on my 330.
