Engine ping..3 part question. - 09/03/11 02:30 PM

1. What is main cause for engine ping?

2. What will it do to your engine at low and fast acceleration?

3. And of course what is the best fix for it?

Thanks,Rob

I'll answer #2 ... it's beat your rod bearings to the copper, cause cap walk and possibly crack the block .

How about stating what your combo/timing is if you want an answer .

W your curve in the ballpark you need enough octane to keep it at bay. (as you know) todays gas is very poor which forces u to compromise the curve which only helps a certain extent & causes other probs. Any ping you can hear is very damaging. If a person builds a monster it needs 2 b fed properly (a % of race gas)

You step on the gas and instead of power you hear what sounds like a coffee can of marbles being shaken.
