converter lock-up no workie - 08/21/11 06:56 PM

I have a 98 neon that the lock-up on converter isn't working.I have 12 volts going to solenoid located on trans.Jumped the solenoid and it works.I think the computer isn't doing its job of grounding the circuit. If somebody can tell me what pin number is the ground on the computer,I would be real thankful. Can't get car inspected with check engine light on.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a bit and then seeing if the problem continues?

Most local parts stores will read and then erase the codes for free.

when this problem first started, the lock-up would stop working and the light would come on usually on a cold damp day. When the weather got better the lock-up would work and the light would reset itself. It quit fixing itself.I'am thinking the connection to the computer may be bad or the computer itself.I don't know much about these computer cars,If I get a computer at a junk yard can I just hook it up or do you have to flash the computer to work in my car?
