found in trunk of 74 RR,
I am guessing remote starter for underhood work

although could be a horn relay that lets you hit the horn from it

do any of you recoginize it for sure?

seat belt interlock bypass, 74 only.

BTW, could you please make the pictures fuzzier and bigger, they are almost, but not quite USELESS.

I wish I could say I take crappy pictures on purpose to test your skill, but sorry.

Both of you have strong kung fu and got it despite the pictures.
Should have been obvious to me,
but too many loose ends to sort out for it too have clicked.

It will plug into this

and lines up with the left two holes on the firewall.

I am not saying it's not fun getting together a car that sat after primer and disassembly and got it with lots still to sort out,
but I do wish I had hands on experience or one still all together to compare to.

it ain't kung fu, some problems stick in your mind forever. The 74 only seat belt interlock fiasco is one of them. You might want to reconsider restoring that part of the car altogether.

...or gut it and stick it back on the firewall...

Buzzer? We don't need no steenkin buzzer!

i already had the interior out (and very happy with a mint floor!),
and from what I saw of those seat belt wiring, let alone I have a '73 Satellite SP interior with God knows what exactly buckets I have,
I assure you I won't be tryin to get the seat belt buzzer working.

Stick it on the fire wall with the connector near it, maybe.

But it starts and runs and drives now and I am not messing with the jumper.

You could clean it up, gut it (as suggested earlier), and jump it INSIDE the shell, so the connector could be plugged into it.
No martial arts skills required.

My 74 Duster had a relay very similar.
The 1974 seat belt interlock system would disable the starter if the seat belts were not clicked together. The front passenger seat had sensors in the seat bottom that sent a signal if they sensed any weight. An old mechanic told me that the system allowed 3 attempts before tripping the switch. The button on the relay "reset" the system.
