Rear shocks - 08/01/11 08:10 PM

I recently rebuilt the suspension in my 65 Satellite Front: Ball joints, poly upper and lower control arm bushings, strut rod bushings, Firm Feel front sway bar and tie rods, pitman arm, idler arm,Steer&Gear firm steering box, .92 MP T bars. Rear: Tri City Launcher springs and KYB shocks. The car is real twitchy, like the back wants to come around with very little turning input. I'm thinking that my super stiff rear combination can't be helping any. I like the stance with the springs so I was thinking of trying a softer shock like a generic Monroe/Gabriel since KYBs are notoriously stiff. Also I've heard that you should use longer shocks like C body with SS springs, but both Monroe and Gabriel list the same part number for B and C body shocks. Think the softer shocks would help?

Call Hotchkis. Check on a correct application of their Bilsteins.
$100 a piece and worth it.

DennisH – Thanks for the nice mention about our shocks.

JM67RT – What’s the spring rate of your rear springs?
