When I change the spark plugs, oil seeps into the cylinders from around the tubes. How do I stop this from happening?

there are inserts that fit into the holes in the head at each plug that rise above the head like a cup, and then the tube slides into the insert. i have them on mine, and they work great. keep at least 90% of the oil out. i got mine from a guy on ebay, but it was a while ago. just try a search on ebay with variations on "426 hemi spark plug tubes" and you should find them.

or i would assume someone like mancini would have them, there are a number of people out there who make them.

Summit has them, but they are a bit expensive, $150.

How are they installed? Do you have to have them pressed in by a machine shop?

Also the proper "O" ring is important even if you have the cups. The only ones that work for me is John Arruza,s sales them,, He also has a great V/C gasket. thick. lube the tube some when you slide them on. Wont damage Ring. I will ask this, Does ur spark plugs have the crush washer on them? If they do you will have oil every place.

Keep it outta the Ditches!

I like the cup idea. As for orings, they seem to fit well, and as for gaskets on the plugs, yes there are gaskets. Should I not have the gaskets on the plugs?

Cut them off or get another set of A/C,s without Washers. I cut off one time for a guy with a good pair of side cutters, They mean lil boogers..

Dont use the washers, cutting them off is harder than just unscrewing them.

We could not get them to screw off after they was crushed.

Reason for takeing off get a better seal on the Tube. Washers are made to seal on a conicle spark plug hole.

The spark plug washers have to be removed because they cut or chew up the tubes during plug installation causing damage. Just unscrew them off and use the plug base to seat the plug against the plug tube.

BTW, the inserts will not fit the aluminum E-brock/MP heads without machining the heads. It's a simple cut that needs to be made with a mill. They fit original heads perfectly. Milodon makes (made?) the inserts as well, but I bought two sets from the guy on Ebay and have had no problems. I think I paid about $90 for them, but it was several years ago..

Also I don't pull the sparkplug tubes out if I'm just changing the plugs. I unscrew them and then shove a length of fuel hose down there to grip the plug and pull it out. Same with installing the plugs, I gently guide them down on the end of the hose and spin them in by twisting the hose before torquing.
