440 and auto into 88 4x4 ramcharger???

ok i know there is something differnt about the frame so it wont just bolt up....but...dont matter as i have a steel front motor plate and this is more of a off road beater lol
that being said what tranny do i need to look for to go with what ever kind of transfer case? long or short shaft? no biggie if i have to fab a tranny mount or crossover
mostly just need to know what i need a tranny out of lol

a 440 (w/alt, brackets ect)

a set of 400440 engine mounts (the metat ones)

400/440 exhaust manufolds or headers

a 400/440 4x4 trans

hopefully your truck isnt a TBI truck,,, that changes everything...

Isn't there something about the brake booster too?
I agree that bolting one in should be fairly easy with truck parts. It's all the little and not so little stuff around and supporting that will be more time and money.

yes,use a 86 3/4 ton small vac booster or do a plate for manual brakes

change wire harnes to an 85 so it can be worked and have the VR for charging.

one side of frame may not let you boult a BB in,mine would not,so I swaped to 85 frame along with 85 harness for my 88 truck.

you need the BB 727 short shaft that has the 4x4 output shaft and the trans to xfer adaptor which has the tall mount built in,you need the 4x4 xmember also

if you use a motor plate bolt the tranz up in stock location and set the engine/frame/plate

yes its a tbi that dont worry me as that is easy to take care of
is 4x4trans same as a truck trans? what about a short shaft trans out of a motor home ,yea the parking brake has to come off
could of swore someone was saying hard to put in without a lot of fab work cause a change of the frame
i was thinking this ramcharger had overdrive will a 727 bolt up?

You'll probably have to modify the crossmember to work.

You can use motor mounts - you need BB 4x4 - the BB 2WD won't work
