hemi block vin numbers - 07/20/11 01:14 AM
Can you tell what car this came out of by these numbers? It is in a clone car and the guy has made comments about "if" the correct car was out there he would trade it.
That really isn't a VIN number. Those are assembly numbers based on the 10,000 day calendar. The VIN number should be stamped on the top of the motor near the oil sending unit on the rail where the bellhousing bolts to the back of the motor.
Correct! However, the late April 1968 Assembly date will tell you that it's likely from a May 1968 Hemi car but not much else.
Actually, my 68 Hemi Charger was built in May 68. If the vin on the motor is 375868 please let me know and I'll buy this motor and make you a deal on the motor that is currently in my Charger.
Hey, it's worth a shot!!
