My Mechanical Oil pressure gauge on my 500 cid B Stroker reacts like a tach. Have about 1 hr on the motor with no knocking etc. Never drops below 20 but races to 65 and then right back down fast. Melling high volume. Thx ahead

And your Q is what ? .... sounds OK(on the surface) to me. What weight oil? ... what is your oil temp?

30 weight. Just have never seen a needle react so fast. Nothing gradual about it. Does it from a cold start all the way up to 195 engine temp.

Straight 30 ? ... do you know how the motor has been clearanced?

10w30 Not sure on clearance. Taking it out on the road for the first time tomorrow. Would air in line do this?

10-30 is not a very heavy oil. Any air in-the-lines would be long-gone after 1 hour running time.

I would find some HIGH ZINC oil ....like Valvoline or Brad PITT !
