'73 Imperial Electronic Control Box I.D.?

I think this was inside a '73 Imperial, but I'm not sure what it is or does. It might have been radio related as I was in and around the glovebox.

It's for the stereo system. Listed in the parts book as "Crossover, Mtg. Plate and Cover"
