darn mopar kickdown linkage....

Well I am almost done installing my transmission in my dart...Been 5 years since I parked it...Now I can't find part of the linkages ( half of them)..I read that you can wire the lever back all the way...What will this do?..What will it hurt? ...I only want to get the car out on the road just to check brakes and go for a scoot around the block or so ..tranny 904...3000 stall converter
