help.cant seperate glove box lock.no key 70 b-body *DELETED*

This is a piece of cake if you have the key. As far as I am aware if you do not have a key you are out of luck. A locksmith may be your only option to remove the lock. I just took a cutoff wheel to two of these 70 B body locks this weekend for the same reason. If someone knows a trick to get them off without the key I sure would like to know. I have 3 or 4 more that I would love to get apart without destroying the lock.

Not possible on the 70 style lock. It will not fit through the hole in the door.

The chrome knobs pops off if you pry it with a screw driver, then I think it can be unscrewed and removed from the door so you can dig into it.

I did it on mine since one non-usable lock had a perfect chrome cap, the lock I had a key for had one that was all worn. Used a rubber mallet to tap it back on.

Maybe reuse a good glove box door this way, it works on Duster glove box bit I don't know about others. Allows removal of the entire assemble from the door but not disassembly of the lock it self.
