My 383 runs rich when you start it up and seems not to hit on all eight but once it is good and warm it will run fine. Have a lot of smoke out the back when you start it up until it runs for awhile. I think it has something to do with the choke. What do you guys think? Thanks

What color is the smoke?

Black is too much fuel. The choke may need adjustment or a new choke pulloff/dashpot.

What Make, year, model, and Carburetor?

...not enough initial timing and or weak spark...
...probably need to change your plugs now too!

choke is staying on too long, adjust it to close less / open sooner and agree to check the vacuum pull-off
