Cruise control problem on Jeep?

Jeep grand cherokee 2004, set cruise and rpm will flssh up and down about 2 to 3 hundred rpm, turn the cruise off and it holds steady, any ideas to problem, and the fix?? thanks.

Thats weird my 98 TJ just started doing the same thing. Does it just do it 2 times in a row kind of fast. Like zoom zoom?
