The connector is for cornering lights. I was sold the wrong Switch. Imagine that.

Glad you got it figured out. 
I realize people make mistakes (I'm the poster child for that) but IMHO sellers have more of an obligation to know what they're selling than the buyer does of what he/she wants.

most replacement switches have that extra wire for the corning lights- just tuck it up inside!
