5 prong relay - 09/21/08 08:31 PM

This may be electrical 101, but I need help. How do you wire in a 5 prong relay for a fuel pump? The pump and battery are in the trunk w/battery cut-off switch. I would like to operate the pump with a switch on the dash. The prongs are numbered 30,85,86,87,&87a. Does the wire from the switch to the relay require a power source? Thanks for any and all help.

30 is battery hot at all times, 87 & 87a are to what you are powering, fuel pump in your case so just use 87 as you only needed a four pin, 85 & 86 are the coil you can either use a switched power or ground it doesn't matter. If you need any other help with this pm me and I will send you my phone #
