under dash ebody help (ammeter)

Hello, A few questions on the ammeter bypass. Somebody disconnected the ammeter and connected all the wires to one post. I was curious if anyone can tell me what the black wire feeds or where it comes from? I think it comes from the alt but not sure.

Hi Tim, yes it goes out to the alt but between the ammeter and the bulkhead it T's to feed the fuse box/clock/ign/horn
