new gas gauge question

ok so i replaced the stock gauge in my 69 charger with a new autometer phantom gas gauge and when the tank is full it only reads 1/4 then it drops to E quick. any suggestions? help

Was it acting the same w the orig gauge? Sounds like a (tank) sending unit prob

sounds like an electrical issue, check all your cables and make sure nothings grounding out on you.

Autometer makes gauges in various specs to match different manufacturers (ohm rating empty and full). As a start, what is your guage rated? MOPAR is +/- 10 ohms full and around 78 empty. I can't find the exact specs in my FSM right now but this should get you in the ballpark.
