What do you use in the channel that the glass sits in, in the glass rubber? Is their some kind of adhesive or sealer? I'm thinking their is but I can't remember what it is.
A little help please.

I just did this in the FrankenDuster.....
NO sealant. I used wd-40 to act as a lube though.....

The rear on my 74 Duster had a locking strip in the black gasket. I'm not sure if all Duster/Demon/Dart Sport cars had the same design from 70-76. I have pulled several rear windows out. I always cut the gasket apart and pulled the glass out that way. When I recently replaced the rear window in my FrankenDuster, I was careful to NOT damage the rubber seal. This was my first rear window install. ZERO leaks too.

I have a new rubber seal to work with. I was recommended this to put in the out and in side channels of the seal, prior to installing the window.

I would think that if the manufacturer suggests it, they may have a point. I have only installed ONE rear window. I used no sealant and it doesn't leak. Maybe I got lucky.
