Frame connectors advice - 05/16/11 02:46 PM
I was wondering what the max HP/torque engine would be recommended for a stock B-body before frame connectors would be required. I'm looking at rebuilding my engine (440-4 speed) this winter and would like around 450hp, but don't want to go through the work of frame connectors. I do not plan on driving it hard but occasional spirited driving.
Thanks, Bob

I don't think it's HP/TQ thing. Connectors will "tighten" the car up no matter what engine combo you have. Cheapest and easiest upgrade I did on my car. It will ride and handle much better even without cutting into the floors. Much less work than your planned engine build(much cheaper also)

X2.
They will help remove squeaks and rattles and make everything else in the suspension work more efficiently. IMO, they are a benefit regardlesss of power. Even the simple bolt in style 1x2 types will help out immensly.

Me too & the ones that fit/weld to/thru the floor pan work even better

Do your homework as some weld on frame connectors fit better than others , But they make a great improvement in stiffness
