i need to take the 8 qt pan off for a seal change. will it come off w/out pulling the eng?
its a 70 B body w/440 auto.

Yes,you will have to drop the center link for the steering.

It should.You will probally have to drop the center link and undo the motor mounts to lift the engine some.Thats what I do when dropping the one in my 65 B body.Rocky

Should. drop the link as stated and it would help if you could raise the engine. It's not so much the deep pan as it is getting the front bolts.

For added measure of insurance, check condition of pickup tube and screen and its' clearance from the sump floor before securing the
pan to the engine.

Depending on the pan, it might hang up on a crank counterweight, in which case just turn the crank. My SB does that; I put a mark on the balancer so I can turn the crank to the right position beforehand.
