Need help with rad issue

I was mounting a trans cooler last night, slipped with the drill and nicked my rad core. It started leaking instantly so I drained it and pulled it. This morning I dropped it off at the local rad shop, get a phone call 2 hours later and they tell me they fixed the hole, but its leaking from about 5 different spots So I go down and take a look, and sure enough, it's leaking all over the place.

So my question is, could it be that the rad had sat at one time and corroded, then when it went back into use the owner fixed it with bars leak , and when they pressured it up with air it pushed it out,
or did they drop it and would this cause the problem.

It's old, that all. Can they recore it?

Yeah, they can, but I don't understand why it didn't leak a drop all summer, yet when they tested it there was 5 different leaks.

If it's leaking in more than one place, then it is real thin everywhere from age and corrosion. Please don't blame them. How old is the radiator? Get it recored and your good to go for a while longer.

I'm not sure, I just bought the car a few months so I don't really know much history, but the rad shop did say the core looked to be fairly new, but I guess looks can be decieving. I am not gonna blame them, no point in raising a stink, and i suspect you are probably right. I can't find any marks from them dropping it, and I don't know if dropping it would cause this anyway.

I would not blame the shop-I would thank them!
They are doing their job.

Any repairs/and or inspections they do,they usually pressure test the rad-sometimes up to 25 pounds!
This ensures no leaks,and if it leaks it will!!
It's best to deal with it now rather than take it back and saying "ever since..."

Given the unknown history of the rad prior to you buying the car,looks can be decieving.Anybody can spray bomb an old rad,but what's going on inside it you can't see.
Do it once do it right.Get it recored.
The shops stand behind their work with good service and warranty.

Thanks for the help guy's , your right about the rad shop not being at fault, it was just a bit of a surprise4, and I wanted an opinion on it.

It could have been patched with stop leak or it may just be old and thin. Either way it's not the shops fault for it leaking after a cleaning. If they dropped it you would see the dent(s). Just recore core it and
