Looking for info on late 70s factory aluminum rims

Looking for info on late 70s factory aluminum rims - 04/28/11 02:49 AM

I have a set of (apparently rare) rims that were optional on the late 70s Cordobas and LeBarons. Here's a picture:

I would like to know everything I can about these rims- most specifically, how did the center cap mount and what other center caps can be made to fit these rims? The original center caps were not included with these rims when I got them, so I am trying to find a suitable replacement.

Will the rallye center caps from the same time frame fit these rims? Does anyone have any of the center cap hardware for sale? What, if any, aftermarket center caps will fit these rims? Is there a snap in center cap that will at least cover the center holes?

Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

A bracket bolts to the 2 small holes and the center piece bolts to that then there is a cap that snaps on top of that, and those can be different styles. I had those on a Magnum.

Thanks for the info. I guess I say they are rare because I have only ever seen two sets. For some reason I don;t see many late B bodies where I live, and never have seen many.

Thanks 6bblgt! I have been meaning to pick up a 78 or 79 parts manual just for those diagrams and parts lists.
