1968-70 B-Body Capacity? - 04/26/11 06:22 AM
Well there's finally some light at the end of the tunnel and I'm graduating college and think I want to buy myself a 1968-70 two door B-Body as a graduation gift. Do front and rear bench seat cars have a center lap belt in the front and/or back? I want something for my friends and I to cruise in on the weekends. Thanks, and sorry for the somewhat novice question.

yes they do. Also, bucket seat cars with the fold down arm rest/buddy seat also have a third seat belt in front.

well, 68/69 chargers are not front bench just Buddy seat. First year for front bench was 70, on Chargers at least.
yes on lap belts though, just shoulder on driver and passenger fronts ( not allways equiped ). Optional shoulder on outer places to rear bench, but VERY RARE to find
thats what I have known at least

Also, early build 68 chargers did not come with front shoulder belts as standard. I believe it was optional up to jan 68. Mine was a dec 67 build and only came with lap belts. My jan build charger came with them.

Also headrests were not required for the earlies. I believe they became standard in Jan of 69.. Nice for visiting.

Not sure of build date on my '68 Coronet R/T. I know it's early because it has slide out ash tray. It doesn't have shoulder belts.
