92 Shadow "No fan" - 04/21/11 01:11 AM
Hi, can one of my Mopar brothern please help me. I purchased a 1992 Dodge shadow with 55k original miles. I have only put about 100 miles on it. All in cool rainy weather. The today with the weather being in the high 70's I noticed the temp gauge up past halfway to hot. When I got home I noticed the fan wasnt running. I ordered a Haynes manual but have yet to receive it. I am going to test the power to the fan motor tomorrow once I get home from work. If I run the car to town and back it should be warm enough to cause the fan to come on. My question after all of that is can someone please chime in and tell me where the fan relay is on the car? Or if this is a common problem what might it be???? Obviously if I have power to the fan and it isnt running I know the fan is bad. Thank you

It may not have gotten hot enough for the fan to run yet. The gauge on some cars has to get up there before fan will run. Some gm's had to get to 240 farenheit.

I forgot to mention that I replaced the temp sending unit switch in the motor. When I bought it the gauge didnt work. I think the way the gauge seemed to work now that it was hot. I need to get the DVOM out tomorrow:). If the gauge reads hot again I need to check for power at the fan. No one knows where the relay is for the fan?

If its a 4 cyl start it.Then unplug the temp sender the fan should run.The relays are either on the ds fender or the firewall.Been a long time since Ive worked on one. There should be I believe 3 relays.Rocky
