I have a 1969 dodge charger. Is there an easy way to center the steering wheel without disconnecting the coupling?

Depends on how far off it is. Most times the centering is done with adjusting the tie rod ends.

What Stumpy said.

In on one side tie rod assembly, out the same amount on the other side.

Shade tree approach using a tape measure to get the toe decent (~1/8" in total).

A common practice but I'd want the each tie rod assembly to be about the same length as a priority.

I thought that the steering coupler had a master spline that prevented it from going on wrong...?
I usually clock the tie rods to center the wheel.

If the tie rods don't center it with minimal turning then the pitman arm was installed while the steering gear wasn't centered (that means with the wheels turned instead of straight ahead).
