70 B body brake saftey switch - 04/20/11 01:40 PM

I am in the middle of putting the brakes back together on my 70 Runner with power disk brakes, and the saftey switch block looks nasty and rusty. Just wondering what suprizes I am in for taking it apart? Has anyone done this? What kind of seals are inside and where can I get parts for it?

Thanks

If you're not worried about resto-correct, I'd just skip it altogether and install an adjustable proportioning valve in the rear line.

Something like you might find here. search for "valve".

I've found that if you pull the dead fittings off, you'll probably find it whistle clean inside.

I would wire wheel it down to fresh brass first, then pull the fittings and see what it looks like inside.

Here's mine in process....

Unfortunately I pulled the big fitting off and the spring is covered in rust. I will post pictures later.
