STREETMASTER 318 - 04/20/11 03:07 AM

How well do these work on 360 heads? I'm suspecting the ports don't match?

Thoughts?

I have one on a 318 & yes has small 318 ports. I'd blend them out to match the 360 heads. I'd try it on a DD

The Streetmaster theory was wrong, very small port size to help keep velocity up. It didn't work I have never heard anyone that like them unless they had switch from a two barrel to the Streetmaster witha four barrel Almost all of the stock cast iron four barrel intakes and carbs have more power and better milage than the same carb on a Streetmaster intake, regardless of brand and type V8 motor There a bunch of better intakes out there

Even worse than Offy split port stuff maybe the worst aftermarket intake of all time.

Well CB ...I like them. And have used them on a B and RB motor personally ...and have heard many postive reports on the A engine.

NOT for any power-gains .. but for MPG and street-manners ... TWO BIG

I've used this manifold in 3 different applications and never got the result I was looking for, I would suggest almost any manifold out there over the streetmaster 318.

The price was right though, it came with a 600 carter I bought for $40 18 years ago.

I went to all the trouble of porting one to use with my 360 heads and it was still a dog. Replaced it with a single plane, high rise M1 and picked up quite a bit.

Joe was that a mileage app? If so I'll look for something as that is what I have (w 1406 Eddy) & if it's hurting me that bad & I dont know it I'll keep my eyes peeled for a cheap dual plane

IMHO, look for a LD340 intake, old skool and right up there in the #s of the rpm/air gaps

the LD4B is another great intake for the 318 small ports

Michael that sounds like a good one. It's dual plane right?

That's correct, LD4B is a smaller version of the LD340. Nearly as good as the LD340 also. The LD4B for some reason has reversed runners from the layout on the LD340, and the ports are sized to match 318 heads, and for some reason there is no provision on the LD4B to mount the coil (the cast boss is missing).

Ive got a D4B on a 318 and this 318 has more torque and throttle response than any other 318 I've ever driven. Great intake. It's low-mid RPM where this intake shines at high RPM it's no big deal.

yes,square bore,duel plane,revs runner layout,no coil mount

2 of the cars I ran it on were daily driver MPG type builds, one was a 74 318 valiant with 2.76's and the other was a d150 shortbed with a 318/998 and 3.21's, on the valiant I switched to a sp2p with the same 600 carter and the d150 got a performer with a edelbrock 1400 600cfm carb.

The truck picked up 2 more mpg with 3.55's, small hooker headers and 2.25" duals and a really small crane hyd roller that was sold as an emissions legal cam, it already had #302 heads on it so I left them alone.

Got a streetmaster 318 with a vac 600 holley, 268 mystery cam & set of headers on a 318 in my 85 ramcharger, No complaints here. For a daily driver it works awsome. usually 15mpg
