acceleration bog - 04/14/11 04:30 AM

hi there I have a 98 dodge 4x4 318 4spd auto, started it this morning and drove away and it wouldn't go over 30 mph, motor was boggin really bad and the more you got on it the worse it would get??? Could this be a fuel pump issue or a plugged fuel filter? When u turn the key on you can hear the fuel pump fire up !!! any help or suggestions would be great thanks Mike

Could be the fuel pump-filter,(both in tank), or cat conv beginning to plug up on you.

well thanks for the replies on this post!! I finally got around to looking at this truck, I disconnected the exhaust at the manifolds and the bog is gone!! so i talked to my exhaust shop up here and we are going to put true dual exhaust on this truck from the manifolds back! my question is the original cat has two pipes into one, with a O2 sensor at the front of the cat and one after. when we put the duels on we were going to put both sensors on one pipe . how will this affect the performance of my truck with the cat not being there?
just wondering?? some one has done this before?? thanks Mike
