Check fluid level first. If its a 3 speed check the linkage from transmission to throttle body, likes to stick. If its a 4 speed scan it.

Clogged filter? How long since it was adjusted/filter/fluid changed?

just serviced the trans about 2 months ago, flushed the trans because the cooler line broke in the rad and filled the trans with cooland and the rad with ATF. New rad and flushed the trans with new filter and fluid and its been fine till now. Checked the stick first and all is fine there, fluid dosnt smell burnt. I just dont know the front wheel drive trannys.

It's virtually the same as any old Torqueflight-just uses a helical diff to drive the front axles and a lockup clutch in the converter. Uses a band for second gear. Judging by what you just posted, the coolant likely delaminated the intermediate band, or there is a governor issue. Any auto trans will not last very long when you discover the strawberry milkshake. Even if you fix the problem that initially caused it. Get the unit overhauled, or get a clean cutout. I wouldn't hesitate to install one of these used, I would just check the diff bearings and axis pin. Otherwise they are actually pretty durable little units...

This car has ran great with no issues till now. It dosnt slip, just wont shift out of first or it will but it takes its own time to do it.
