Re: E-body people - 04/12/11 04:14 PM

P235-60-15 ft and P255-60-15 rears
Ft's rub when going thru jounce and rebound and if in a turn at the same time , even at slow speeds.

I had 225-60-15 all the way around when I bought it and they never rubbed once.

We've had an E-body in the garage far longer than any A-body. I think we're going on 25 years with it! I just don't talk about it as much.

Thanks guys!

Another 235/60-15 in front on 15x7 with 3.75 BS
255/60-15 ih the rear on 15x8 with 4.25 BS
I use to run 295/50-15's in the rear & I love the look but when the car is loaded with luggage for a road trip the tires would rub when cornering at speed.... I hate having to slow down & drive like grandpa so I gave up looking cool for driving enjoyment...

The 70 Challenger has been sitting for years on 275/50/15's, but will roll with something wider when it hits the road. Just cant decide whether i want to give up the ability to throw on 15" steelies and redlines for the nostalgia weekends when i go for 13" disc all around...

I like big tires on E-bodies too. Z-rated 325 50R15 on 10 inch ralleys in the rear & V- rated 225 60R15's on 7 inch ralleys in the front.

What size backspacing are you running in the rear? Do they rub at all?

Get out the baseball bat Bill. Those fenders just need a little roll.

Re: E-body people - 04/14/11 03:10 AM

Can't recall what size they are, but they're on 15x8's and I had to trim one corner of the front fenders to make them clear at full lock. I'd go check, but it's cold outside.

5 inch backspacing, No rubbing even after launching with 3 big guys in the car, but there are very, very slight signs of contact on the leaf spring after some spirited cornering.

Dunno, to me it seems pretty sad that someone would go dressing up a nice e-body to look like a camaro.

front 26x10x15 on 15x8 with 4.5" back space. Just fit with a rolled lip
rear 26x12x15 on 15x10 with 5" back space. Plenty of room all around.
