Best Carb Spacer for RPM Air Gap

Best Carb Spacer for RPM Air Gap - 04/05/11 12:12 AM

I will be taking my car to the dyno soon to try a couple of different intakes. I have a Super Victor and an RPM Air Gap. I would like to try a 1" carb spacer on the Air Gap but not sure which type would work best with a dual plane intake, a tapered 4 hole or an open spacer. Does anyone have any dyno or track results? All advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Open usually works the best on a dual plane intake to make power. Throttle response sometimes isn't as good though.

most results I have seen were nominal to none at all. But always worth trying if you have the dyno time.

HVH recommends a 4-hole for the Air Gap.

As previously stated, since you have dyno-time try an open and 4-hole to find out how your setup responds.

Please share your findings.....

Yes, old rule of thumb (don't know whose thumb!), 4 hole spacer on dual plane, open spacer on single plane. Let us know if that's what your dyno shows!

This has worked best on mine...1" open fully blended, thinned, and lowered center divider
