Transmission Adjustment Question

Transmission Adjustment Question - 04/01/11 03:34 AM

I had a 727 rebuilt. I have the kick down linkage correct and adjusted correctly. The transmission won't kick down when you floor it. It also seems to shift up pretty rapidly when you just pull away from a stop. Other than that it works fine. Also if I adjust the kick down linkage way out some times it will kick down when floored but it feels like it is pulling down fighting itself slightly before it does shift. Is this a band out of adjustment? The guy that rebuilt it isn't around anymore.

Is the slotted rod pulled all the way forward at idle and how far does that put the TP lever (on the trans) from having to move b 4 it hits some tension inside the trans and at WOT how much further can the throttle pressure (AKA kickdown) lever be moved rearward if you unhooked it. Trying to get an idea of what your lever position baseline is right now

RR has some good adjustment tips.

The EZiest thing to do now is to TIE BACK the KD lever and see what it does.
