If you have stout rockers and pushrods they will work and last... just a bit overkill and will put more stress on the cam/lifter/valvatrain than necessary. I would guess they will hurt stock stamped rockers. Sometimes shops like Hughes have "take off" springs from Ed or 440 source heads at low cost. That may be another choice... or a new single spring at about $6 each.

Did you check the specs on a stock spring? I dont have a manual here but they may not be to far off. The closed seat pressure is about 110.

What are you running? I can check my fsm's on the stock specs to see how close they are.

Factory specs on a 76 b-rb head was this
free length 2.58
closed seat pressure 121-129 @ 1 55/64
open " " 192-208 @ 1 7/16
id 1.01 1.03
installed ht. 1 53/64 to 1 57/64
cam lift was .430

On a 69 b-rb head there were std and hp specs.
free 2.58
closed seat pressure same as above
" " " HP 110 @ 1 55/64
open seat pressure same as above
" " " HP 236 to 256 @ 1 23/64
installed heights same as above.
Cam lift std .425 I and .450 E
HP cam lift .435 I and .458 E

Looking at comps specs I think you should be fine. The 388 open pressure is at 1.200

The one item that bothers me is the inner springs ID at .697. Some guides need to be cut and a special seal used so the spring will not take off the seal. If you have to do that and pay for it buying the right springs may be the best option.

That cam has more lift. I would ask some more on what the valve train survives on spring pressure wise. I have run the mopar 509 but I cant remember what springs we used. I do know it was the mp springs recommended for that cam. My valvetrain survived.
