engine ballancing? - 03/21/11 06:22 AM

Hey all I am taking my rotating assembly in for ballancing tomorrow. Im not sure what all I should bring in, I have the crank, pistons, rods, flexplate, ballancer one set of rod bearings and rings. Is there anything else I should bring in or ask about? Its small block 360.
Also I weighed my pistons and rods to compare stock weight vs the new parts. Each rod and piston are 195 grams lighter, do you guys think this will be noticable in the way the engine revs? This is the first engine I have built with lighter engine parts. The pistons are 30 grams lighter and the rods are 160 grams lighter. So I have lost a total of 1560 grams of rotating weight.

Your shop should ask for your whole rotating assy. Sounds like you have everything ready you need to bring in. Don't forget the piston wrist pins at home. With that much rotating weight removed, the engine should rev easier/more responsive when in neutral.

Sounds good I just had mine done a couple of weeks ago and my eagle crank was like 290 grams off balance.

Lower timing gear and slinger also.
