ford rim on mopar or vice -versa - 03/21/11 04:23 AM

I looked at so many rims over the last week I have confused myself, I think #1 is correct??.

Is it

#1 - a ford rim can be used on a mopar.

OR

#2 a mopar rim can be used on a ford.

The reason I ask is I am looking at a set of these for the rear of my project.

They are offered in ford or gm size and are not returnable once ordered

Thanks

Its the center hub register that is the issue. Fords used a SMALLER wheel bearing, so FORD wheels fit Fords. The Mopar wheels have a larger center hub.
SHORT answer: Ford fits Ford
Mopar fits both.

Mopar can be used on a Ford but if the center register is properly sized for the Ford the rim won"t fit a Mopar....

I used a set of Ford Mustang Rims on an 80 Volare. All I had to do was get a drum sander on my drill and open up the center hole just a little bit.
