Challenger sway bars - 03/21/11 04:17 AM

Looking for thoughts and comments on installing sway bars (front and rear) on my 74 Challenger. What have you used? What system has quality in regards to installation and operation? What about front LCA for the front sway bar, where can these be ordered from? Do they come with a sway bar kit? Just want to get good advice so I can research and get the best components for my car as well as correctly ordering what I want the first time around. Thanks.

I'm guessing that your using modern steel belted radial tires.

I think I'd suggest a larger than stock diameter front sway bar. Skip the rear sway bar. If you really must have a rear sway bar, use smaller than stock diameter. A rear sway bar that's to large will cause the rear to bounce a little over bumps at speed, which is not desireable for either traction or control.

After your done with the sway bar, consider larger diameter torsion bars and good shocks. After that, frame stiffening. (check out the XV motorsports website).
