The diplomat may be an "M" body, but should fit the same as the "F" aspen-volare IIRC.

A body LA ones usually fit better than they do A bodies.

TTI has some that fit very well.

El-cheapo Hedman 78050 headers fit perfectly. You don't have to ding any tubes and you can even wiggle the stock big starter in and out without having to mess with them.
You do have to remove the engine-to-trans strut on the passenger side though. Also one of the tubes comes close to the passenger side inner fender, it doesn't touch on mine but you may have to give it a little smack with a hammer... no big deal.

Ditto. I have had two sets of TTI headers on two of my M bodys, and have been extremely happy with them. They are worth the price.

Thanks Guys. The guy was not true to his description of the condition pertaining to RUST. I asked if it had rust or any damage. His words "the back right door has rust bubbles on it but the rest is good. no body damage really" Well this is the pic he sent and I requested more but he was running errands. It was listed in one town for its location when it was actually 15miles in another town. No biggie really. It was also not in his name yet . We get there and as we pull up the rear bumper has Rust Holes clear through it can be replaced, the truck was smashed it can be replaced if no internal damage. I call before we get out of the car. No answer. So my cousin and I hop out and wonder to the driver side(where the rust actually was )and the whole friggin back door was rusted out aswell as the wheel arch . I look at my cousin and said "You ready" and we left. I text the guy to let him know it had more rust than he said and I didnt want it. I wanted to punch him in the face. I live 30 miles from the town it was "Listed" it was located but Luckily my cousin has a neon that isnt a pig like my truck.
Pic of what I was hoping the WHOLE car looked like

had both those hedmans and the summit equivalents on my 5th ave....both fit great w/no dinging, the plug access is *slightly* better with the summits, and they're heavier gage steel.

I'll probably try the summits next time the hedmans rust out. The first set lasted about 4 years of daily driving without any paint on them. The vht I tried at the time burned off after a few hours.

On the new set I put on last year I tried Seymour's hi temp cast blast. It seems to hold up much better so far.

That's a shame. They are really reliable and very good cars for the open road. Maybe you will run across another one

I had a 5th ave about 3yrs ago that I sold cause the wife wanted me to get rid of it and it was very reliable and got good gas mileage. I was looking forward to putting a set of cop car wheels/caps on it. I want to get one and put an A833/od in aswell.

The headers in my signature picture are Hooker Competition F body headers. No dinging or special fitment required. Three of the tubes on the driver's side though go under the drag link. Watch out for pot holes...

the hookers, hedmans, flowtech, dynomax, and summits are essentially the same design/routing. the variation between my old hedmans and new summits could probably be chalked up to production tolerances. the hedmans do have 1/4" flanges while the others are 5/16", the new hedmans have a ball-and-socket collector vs. a flat collector flange.

my old hedmans were 6 years old when I replaced them (car driven year round in MI), they probably had 2 more years of useful year round service life. never had a pothole problem, even with my front end lowered ~ 1". I did have a dent which collapsed the frontmost tube about 35%, but that was from a large chunk of ice that fell from a straight truck's mud flap I hit going 55mph....

too bad you're not closer to MI, I'm thinking of selling my modded 5th ave. the itch for a new charger R/T is getting very strong.
